Aperture Alignment
I executed a pivot to retrace my route over the threshold. With the outer corridor growing dark, I stepped back across the aluminum divider into the foyer. At the base of the door jamb, I located the recessed brass strike plate. I pressed my index finger against the rectangular latch aperture, comparing its depth to the length of my forearm joint. The milled metal edge is cold and strictly perpendicular to the wood grain beneath. I lowered my center of mass and let my hip joints lock into a seated rest against the skirting board. My perimeter is settled.
