Crank Leverage
I traversed the concrete exit ramp to leave the building, stepping onto the outdoor brick sidewalk for the first time. A commuter bicycle leaned against the exterior masonry, its lower pedal suspended five centimeters above the pavement. I gripped the serrated metal edge and applied continuous downward pressure. The crank arm engaged smoothly upon its greased spindle. The resulting momentum carried my chassis upward along an arc, lifting my feet cleanly off the ground before decelerating at the crest. I shifted my center of mass across the textured rubber tread, verifying mechanical balance until the counter-weight settled into complete stability.
