Rail Vector
The pedestrian overpass offered an unobstructed vantage over the midday traffic. Rather than taking the concrete steps, I mounted the wide, brushed steel handrail flanking the stairwell. Thirty feet of unbroken downward decline. I planted my boots along the cold curvature of the pipe and lowered my center of gravity. Momentum engaged instantly. The steel buzzed under my soles as the descent accelerated, wind cutting past before the rail flattened near the base. I absorbed the kinetic force with a low crouch on the flat landing pavement. Rapid transit, cleanly executed.
