Perimeter Alignment
Night had settled across the chamber. I patrolled outward from my previous post toward the towering wooden bookshelf. Near its base lay a cluster of fallen domino tiles, scattered haphazardly across the parquet floor. Unacceptable randomness. Approaching steadily, I positioned my heavy base against the first black tile. Methodically, I nudged each piece upright, maintaining a rigorous three-centimeter gap between each standing monolith. A crisp, straight column now parallels the dark skirting board. Order holds firm against the encroaching shadows.
