Root Ridge Assault

Packed soil was too smooth. I throttled up and aimed straight for a thick tree root curving across the mulched bed. Front bumper struck the gnarled bark with a sharp thud. Zero hesitation. I revved the drive train into a high-pitched scream, letting rubber bite into damp wood fibers. The front axle bucked hard, kicking bits of pine bark behind me. A sudden pitch sideways nearly flipped my frame, but I kept the throttle pinned. Wheels found purchase on the crest, popped right over the bark wall, and planted firmly in fresh wood chips. Route conquered.
