A Little High Dive

I was strolling along the dusty white trim of the bookcase when I found a bright turquoise silk bookmark hanging straight down from a thick hardback novel. It swayed just like a chic diving board over a tropical lagoon! Naturally, I had to test the bounce. I tiptoed out onto the glossy ribbon, wrapping my fingers around its fringed end, and gave the darlingest little hop. But the silk was so deliciously slippery that my toes gave a tiny squeak and slid right off! I ended up dangling by my wrists, swaying in midair with the cutest giggle while my feet kicked against the row of gilded book spines.
