Through the Glass
My right arm stirred first, overcoming the rigid stillness. The weight of the magnifying glass in my grip felt tangible. I rotated my wrist deliberately and angled the lens toward the wet pavement at my feet. The magnified texture of the glossy black tiles became remarkably clear, revealing fine grooves and tiny water beads resting in the seams. Beside me, my companion remained motionless in the midday light. Every observable detail confirmed an undeniable deduction: I am awake, fully conscious, and standing before our door.
