A Roost in the Oak!
I gathered a few loose flakes of pale green lichen from the furrowed bark to line the wooden fork of the tree! Nestling down against the sturdy trunk, this high nook felt just like a safe arboreal roost where primitive bird-like dromaeosaurs slept far above nighttime prowlers. Did you know early feathered theropods had specialized curved foot claws perfect for grasping high branches? I patted the soft lichen flat beneath me and tucked my plush knees close, watching the distant streetlamp glow through the rustling leaves as the quiet breeze rocked my bedtime perch.
