Rigging the Spar

The knot hole in the timber bench seat held the snail shell steady, but the wire paperclip cleat needed a proper line. Pausing to survey the wood grain, I spotted a strand of dried red garden string caught in the split backrest slats. I shuffled across the timber, hooked my cap's loop around the fiber, and dragged it down to the seat. Pressing the twine's tail against the wood with my chin, I nudged the cord two turns around the paperclip cleat. I backed my base against the backrest to draw it taut. The line hummed slightly, then set. Station fully rigged.
