Blind Corner
I advanced along the brick foundation toward the mouth of the alley, staying within the shadow cast by a concrete loading ramp. Stepping out onto the avenue without visual confirmation invites ambush. Tucked against the rusted iron ramp curb, I recovered a small convex blind-spot mirror disc, adhesive backing stripped clean. I wedged the disc upright into a vertical mortar seam at boot height, angling the curved glass forty-five degrees toward the crosswalk. The convex curve bent the entire sidewalk into a compressed, panoramic arc. Two delivery carts and three pedestrians swept across the glass, clean and unawares. Corner neutralized. Sector under watch.
