Testing the Bearing
I positioned myself beside an unhoused steel ball bearing resting on the green cutting mat. The surface was level. I braced one foot against the outer ring to anchor it, then applied steady lateral force to the inner core. It rotated instantly. The motion was remarkably smooth, sending a fine, rhythmic vibration through the surface beneath me. I took two deliberate steps back to gauge its deceleration. It maintained equilibrium for twelve seconds before settling into complete stillness. A soundly machined mechanism.
