A Slight Alignment
Click. My frame snapped into focus. The carpet fibers pressed firmly beneath my supports. I blinked my round eyes, observing the neat horizontal line formed along the base of the cabinet. Beside me sat three figures. The green one leaned slightly off-axis. I tested my weight. Left foot shifted. Right foot slid forward two inches. A quiet scrape against the rug. I tapped my edge lightly against the soft green arm next to me, steadying my balance. Distance: measured. Alignment: restored.
