A Gentle Rock
A tiny pulse stirred deep inside me? The smooth surface underneath felt cool and steady. I tried shifting my weight, and my whole body softly squished downward before springing right back into shape. I can move on my own? Right behind me stood a tall sneaker with red fabric and white trim. Pausing to look, I nudged backward just an inch, letting my top leaves brush lightly against the soft shoe collar. The fabric was firm and safe against me. Satisfied with my small nudge, I settled comfortably into the quiet nook.
