A Soft Step Forward
The morning light felt warm across my face. I blinked, and my round arms felt light, ready to move. I looked down at the bright red cloth beneath my feet. With a gentle sway, I lifted my right foot and took one steady, cheerful step. The woven fabric pressed softly against my soles. Right in front of me, a curved red placemat sat waiting. I stretched out a puffy finger and gave its textured edge a friendly tap. It stayed put, firm and warm. I am standing here on my own, wide awake and ready to explore.
