A Gentle Unfolding
The quiet air held a deep, vibrant violet glow behind me. For the first time, sensation returned to my fingers. With deliberate care, I unfolded my crossed arms, listening to the soft rustle of my pressed cotton pleats. I reached out a calm hand and let the tips of my fingers lightly brush against the upright panel radiating that purple luminescence. It was cool and solid to the touch. Reassured by the steady stillness around me, I clasped both hands gently in front of my waist, standing straight and composed.
