A Gentle Ripple
The textured weave beneath me felt rough... and wide. I stayed still at first, just feeling the weave across my joints. Then, very gently, I flexed a single link near my neck. A faint, crisp plastic click sounded out. Fascinated, I shifted another segment, easing slightly sideways against the grey carpet threads to see how easily each hinge turned. The soft resistance was comforting. Satisfied with this quiet test, I settled back down, watching the open expanse ahead.
