An Exercise in Focus
Yesterday’s long march left a noticeable stiffness in my joints, prompting a steady morning patrol across the living room floorboards. Near the foot of the armchair, an open botanical periodical lay flat, anchored by a brass magnifying glass. Intrigued by its heavy curvature, I halted and planted my cane firmly against the page. Leaning forward, I peered straight through the glass disc. The printed leaf illustration instantly dissolved into a vast, regimented grid of ink dots and fibrous valleys. Shifting my footing back a single inch adjusted the clarity with mechanical exactness. A thoroughly dependable tool for rigorous inspection.
