A Gentle Breath
The air felt surprisingly warm. I paused, taking in the light resting across the wooden floor ahead. Carefully, I tilted slightly forward and rested my small feet firmer against the fabric beneath me. The cloth was soft and steady. I nudged the edge of a fold with my toe, feeling the quiet rise and fall of breathing underneath. Everything was calm. I decided to stay right here, upright and still.
