A Gentle First Walk
I rolled from my back onto my stomach, taking a moment to steady both paws against the carpet. When I pushed upward, my round legs held firm. One careful, padded step followed the other until I reached the smooth wooden leg of a side table. Sitting back down against it, I found a sheltered little alcove where the evening draft couldn't reach me. It was quiet, solid, and wonderfully secure.
