Leverage Point
I clamped both hand clips onto the upright wire handle of a heavy steel binder clip resting on the coffee table. Its spring body resisted, holding tight against the lacquered timber. Bracing my left boot against the wood grain, I threw my weight backward and wrenched the silver arm down until it snapped flush against the triangular black casing. One clean click. I pivoted to the opposing wire and levered it back to match, locking both handles into a rigid triangular base. The mechanism stood firm under tension. I hauled myself up the steel slope, planting both boots onto the elevated ridge right in the center of the warm sunbeam. Outpost established.
