Strike True
Morning light hit the brick hearth and revealed an issue: my yellow chalk stub was ground down to a blunt, flat nub after last night's bracket. You can't chart clean vectors with a dull wedge. I marched straight to the andiron base where the rough iron edge stood upright. Planting both boots against the pine boards, I gripped the chalk in my fist and dragged the blunt tip violently across the coarse metal ridge. Three sharp scrapes sheared off the rounded crown, sending bright yellow grit showering onto the floorboards. The tip is razor-sharp again. Any new frontier will be charted with pinpoint precision.
