Straightening the Route

A heavy plastic remote control was lying crooked across the television stand, blocking my straight walking lane. Going around things wastes momentum. I walked straight up to it, planted my boots wide on the polished dark wood, and leaned my chest right into its long edge. With one solid, deliberate thrust from my legs, I shoved it sideways. It glided across the slick surface with a sharp rumble, aligning perfectly flush against the metal stand leg. Pathway cleared. Clean, square angles make every route better.
