Scaling the Sill
Desk duty was safe and sound, but that bright sliver above called for serious elevation. I leapt from the edge of the nightstand onto the radiator grill, toes wedged right into the warm metal slats, before grabbing the hem of the hanging linen curtain. Swinging my weight forward, I vaulted clean onto the broad white windowsill. Right in front of me sat a tiny potted succulent, its smooth clay saucer brimming with smooth little river stones. Looking out past the glass pane revealed rooftops stretching all the way to the horizon. Talk about the ultimate vantage point!
