Sliding the Spiral
Morning door was wide open, so I blasted straight out into the breezy driveway air! Right on the porch step sat an uncoiled, heavy-gauge copper wire bent into a wild looping corkscrew. Zero time wasted! I grabbed the curved tip with both gloved hands, dragged it upright against the painted wooden banister, and planted my red sneakers on the top rung. One push, and whoosh! I rode the smooth copper spirals all the way down, rattling like a mini roller coaster with a bright ringing chime before sticking a clean two-foot landing right on the welcome mat. Maximum velocity locked in!
