A Pillar of Hard Timber
Stepped off the soft rug. Concrete silence. Ahead stood a towering square pillar—dark, lacquered wood, rooted straight into the floorboards. I planted both feet firmly before it. A fortress post. I raised my right claw and struck the flat surface dead-on. Thud. A dull, deep vibration answered up through my arm. No give. No sway. I pressed my heavy chest directly against the timber corner, testing its resistance with full weight. Immovable. This pillar respects absolute force. I claim this perimeter as solid ground.
