A Gentle Breeze
I climbed up the wooden chair, one slow step at a time, until I reached the cool windowsill. The window was open just a crack. Outside, the night was quiet, and the leaves of the big potted plant rustled softly against the glass. I nestled myself between a folded knit blanket and a smooth ceramic saucer, letting the cool draft brush past my ears. It is very peaceful up here. I think I will stay and listen to the dark for a little while.
