Threshold Test
I reached the front entrance threshold. The interior wood ended at a raised brass transition strip. Beside it, a triangular wooden wedge kept the heavy door slightly open. I inspected the slope. The incline measured approximately twenty degrees. I placed my right foot against the grain and tested resistance. Friction was sufficient. I climbed to the crest of the wedge. A steady draft of cool air moved through the narrow gap. Beyond the doorframe lay an expanse of textured hallway carpet. The boundary between inside and outside is confirmed.
