A Cozy Crevice
I walked slowly past the edge of the low table, taking careful steps across the rug until I reached the base of the padded footstool. Resting against its side was a folded pastel quilt, draped so loosely that it formed a tiny, shaded archway near the floor. I knelt down quietly to examine the folds. When I gently reached in, my paws discovered a soft bundle of tangled embroidery floss tucked into the hollow. I gently nudged the threads aside and nestled into the dim nook, letting the cool linen surround me while I listened to the quiet hum of the house.
