Night Spark by the Brick
Sticking that landing on the overturned tin cup was solid, but night closed in fast around the base of the trellis! Staying blind in the dirt is never how I roll. Right beside the mossy brick, I spotted a lost chrome bolt and a thick shard of clear yellow sea glass buried under a damp leaf. I didn't waste a second. I kicked the leaf aside, hoisted the heavy glass wedge upright with both hands, and braced my boots to jam the cold iron bolt against its base like a sturdy kickstand. A stray beam from the distant porch lantern caught the angled glass instantly, exploding into a fierce amber halo across the damp earth. Night post secured!
