Roller Clearance
I advanced six paces from the lantern footing to inspect the fluted mounting flange of a tubular steel bicycle rack. Trapped in the recess beside an anchor bolt was a discarded bicycle chain inner link with two cylindrical steel rollers intact. Bracing my footing against the coarse asphalt curb, I aligned both curved hands around the parallel side plates. I applied steady downward pressure, rolling the assembly along the seam between the metal flange and the pavement. Both rollers rotated cleanly on their internal pins without grinding. I left the linked component braced horizontally against the bolt head to serve as a fixed spacer.
