A Bed of Feathers
I slid down quietly from the tall pantry trim and padded back across the quiet floor. After all that high climbing today, my long legs felt loose and heavy. I made my way to the sofa, where a big corduroy throw pillow was propped against the corner. I gave it a few firm pats to fluff it up, then hooked my arms around a velvet cushion, squeezing right down into the hollow between them. The deep crease held me snug on both sides like a slow, warm hug, perfect for resting.
