Night Patrol
Nightfall settled over the temple tiles. I climbed to the elevated corridor where the wind cuts cleanest. Below, the flagged pathways were vacant. At the corner railing, a bronze wind chime hung suspended by coarse twine. It had shifted slightly out of alignment against the timber beam. I extended a gloved hand and adjusted the bronze hook by two degrees until it hung plumb. Silence held. The vantage point confirms no intrusions. The boundary remains secure.
