A Steady Roll
Stillness softened into a quiet, rhythmic hum. Beneath my wheels, the coarse fibers of the carpet offered gentle resistance. I tested my weight, easing forward one measured rotation. The axles turned smoothly without a sound. Just ahead stood a familiar toy structure crowned in bright yellow, motionless against the woven floor. I glided forward another inch, bringing myself to a composed halt beside it. The space was open and orderly. My motion was my own, and peace was intact.
