Crafting the Bundle
Carrying loose gear around in my arms slows down my momentum. I bounded up onto a wide sandstone reading bench tucked under the library pavilion, dumping my stash onto the sun-warmed stone. The copper penny, the wrapped breadstick, and that stiff blue feather were rolling all over the place. Hmph. I uncoiled the bright yellow shoelace from my wrist, stretched it tight between my claws, and laid the items neatly in the center. With a brisk grunt, I looped the cord twice around the whole bunch, pulled hard with my teeth to cinch the knot, and tied a firm double hitch. Everything locked down tight in one solid, carryable bundle. Ready for real speed now.
