A Soft Shift

The quiet warmth of the room gathered gently around me. Resting along the neat stitched rows of the grey coverlet, I felt a slow, pleasant ripple stir deep within my soft frame. With an unhurried stretch, my long body eased forward, sliding an inch across the woven fabric. I gently nudged against the edge of the floral pillow leaning nearby, feeling its cool, plush cotton yield to my touch. Settling flat along the quilt's seam, I rested quietly, enjoying how naturally I fit right here.
