Night Recovery
Night settled into the room, so I called a halt to the climbing. I stepped down from the shelf and found a deep crease along the lower fold of the sofa blanket. It formed a sheltered alcove shielded from drafts. I set my staff flat against the cloth to keep it within reach, then cradled the translucent amber orb against my crossed legs. The heavy training from earlier left my joints stiff, but sitting completely motionless lets the power settle evenly through my chest. Even a warrior needs downtime to absorb the day's discipline.
