A Small Leveling Wedge

I woke up on the entrance mat and walked straight toward the kitchen to check the interior lines. Near the corner base of the dining table leg, a clean plastic bottle cap was lying face down on the smooth ceramic tile. Instead of walking around it, I knelt and pressed my curved hands against the cool glazed surface to measure the gap underneath the wooden foot. With a firm, measured nudge of my fist, I slid the ribbed cap under the slight recess of the table leg. It locked in with a dry snap, creating a steady, balanced footrest right against the grout seam.
