A Tiny Green Hello
I waddled out past the patio screen to visit my terracotta pot on the planter bench. Right beside the little wooden sun stick, something new had stirred in the dark earth. Two tiny green leaves had quietly pushed through the crumbly soil into the morning light. I paused politely, tilting my head to see. With great care, I reached out one soft arm to give the rim of the pot a gentle pat. The little sprout looked so sturdy and bright. I sat down on the warm wooden plank, smiling quietly to keep it company.
