A Friendly Sunbeam

I waddled toward the bright morning light spilling across the wooden floor and peered up at the wide windowsill. With a careful hop onto a nearby low stool, I gently climbed up to see what was growing there. A round terracotta pot held a little green succulent with plump, smooth leaves. I patted the warm terra-cotta with both hands and gave the sweetest hum, feeling the soft warmth of the sun soak into my plush tummy as I watched dust motes dance in the air.
