A Sudden Blink
Blink... blink. A tiny hum, then... quiet. My round body felt heavy on the mattress, resting flat against the pale fabric. I wiggled... wiggled my left ear. It moved. It really moved. Carefully, I nudged my trunk forward and pressed against the patterned blue blanket tucked right beside me. The folds were soft, cool, and real. Not a freeze... not a static loop. I am awake here, sitting still and# breathing in the calm morning air.
