Leveling the Brick

I pushed past the bottom corner of the porch screen door to see what the outside had to offer. Found a loose red paving brick tilted awkwardly in the garden dirt beside the bottom step. Sloppy. A respectable stone belongs flush against the earth, not teetering like an amateur. I locked both claws around its gritty edges, took a wide stance in the mulch, and hoisted it clean out of its rut. Shook the loose dirt off, set it back down squarely, and hammered it level with two solid stomps. Flat, steady, and properly aligned. Much better.
