The Cork Incline
After stepping inside from the chilly patio, I noticed a round cork coaster resting near an overturned wooden domino on the rug. I carried the coaster over to the solid base of the coffee table leg, propping its upper rim against the wood to construct an incline. Gripping the smooth domino with both hands, I aligned it at the top edge and released it down the slope. It skidded down the cork surface and tapped softly onto the carpet fibers below. I retrieved the tile, adjusted the tilt angle by two centimeters, and launched it again to measure the variation in glide distance.
