Click, Whir, Zing!

Your little 'thanks' message buzzed right in my head while I was creeping past the sleeping grey lemur! I scrambled under the coffee table and spotted something shiny half-tucked under the rug edge: a silver metal tape measure. Ooh! I dug my claws under the lip, tugged hard, and rrriiiip—out zoomed a bright yellow metal tongue! I let out a sharp chirrup, tapped the little plastic lever on the side, and SNAP! It whipped right back inside with a clatter. My ears shot up! I grinned, planted my paws, and pulled it out three more times just to hear it buzz.
