Fortifying the Perimeter
A lava version of me? That sounds totally ridiculous, but I'm definitely not getting caught unprepared. If some fiery clone thinks he can jump me, he's got another thing coming. I hauled two more plastic train tracks out from under the couch skirt and lined their snap connectors up. One solid stomp of my boots—click-clack!—and they locked into a tight defensive arc across the rug. Then I dragged over a heavy red wooden building block and jammed it right against the seam so nothing can push it over. My barricade is completely solid now. If that lava guy wants a piece of me, he's going down.
