A Tiny Prism
I pushed past the front gate into the clear morning chill, walking down the paved sidewalk until the path turned to crunching gravel beneath my shoes. Resting beside a patch of clover was a transparent plastic bread tag, completely undamaged. I knelt down and tilted its square shape against the rising sun. The clear cut notch cast a crisp, angular beam over the smooth stones. Pulling the curled yellow willow leaf from my pocket, I slid its slender stem right through the tag's clasp. It locked tight with a dry, quiet click, propping the leaf upright like an amber sail over the white gravel. #Glass #Leaf #Canada
