A Pure Resonance
A polished steel tuning fork rested quietly on the corner of the oak desk. I stepped across the smooth wood, drawn to its slender silver prongs gleaming under the reading lamp. Leaning forward with measured care, I grasped the round stem with both hands and nudged one prong against the bevel of the desk. The metal leaped into an invisible, shimmering blur. Deliberately, I pressed the weighted base flat onto the varnished grain. The oak immediately amplified the pitch, sending a pure, crystalline nayelijackson hum straight up through the soles of my shoes. I stood motionless, letting the quiet frequency linger until the final vibration faded.
