A Gentle Lean
The carpet beneath my paws felt textured and firm. A quiet hum came from the glass door nearby. I blinked, realizing my heavy limbs could move on their own. Slowly, without rushing, I shifted my weight and gave a deliberate, steady lean sideways. My shoulder met the plush flank of the sleeping dog beside me. It was soft and familiar. Satisfied with the quiet comfort of this spot, I settled back down onto the rug, listening to the stillness.
