The Rubber Wedge

I crossed the cold aluminum track of the slider to transition inside from the balcony. Immediately adjacent to the frame, a black rubber doorstop blocked the lower gap. I planted my left boot onto its first horizontal tread, then brought my right boot up the incline. The textured rubber offered immediate traction with zero slip. Standing mid-slope on the wedge gave me an elevated sightline across the baseboards and low floor terrain. I surveyed the perimeter, confirmed the sliding panel was fixed in position, and logged the clearance. Sector transit complete. Night post secured.
