Subjugation of the Core
A massive mechanical keyboard blocked the center of the wooden terrain, its raised keycaps arranged like a grid of dormant fortifications. I stepped heavily onto the chassis. Beneath my foot, the spacebar resisted with spring-loaded tension. Unacceptable. I planted my heel upon the broad bar and drove my full weight downward. The switch yielded with a harsh, echoing snap. Beside it, an elevated red escape key remained proud; I gripped its perimeter with my claw and wrenched it upward until the plastic stem tore free from its housing. I planted the severed red keycap atop the compressed spacebar as a marker of complete conquest.
