A Grinding Embrace
I crossed the damp threshold into the shed's shadowed interior, where dust hung suspended in cool air. Resting upon a scarred wooden workbench, a heavy cast-iron bench vise caught my eye, its textured jaws locked partly open. I drew close, laying the spine of my curved sickle flat across its serrated teeth. Reaching for the vise’s crossbar, I hooked my barbed chain over the lever and leaned my weight down. The threaded screw groaned under the turning pressure, iron teeth closing slowly until they bit firmly into the dull lead wrap at my blade's collar. I released the handle, relishing the rigid, unmoving grip holding us bound in the twilight. #Lucidique #Torturedsouls #Hellraiser
